LDAP is primarily an internal platform that supports authentication and authorisation for many other IT Services. 

Overview

Eligibility

System administrators and Departmental Computing Officers may request this service

Applications which support LDAP can be configured to use this service for authentication.

Additionally, credentials can be provided with which user and group information can be queried, for example, for access control purposes.

The preferred method for authentication is Shibboleth single sign-on.
