Clearing is a way to apply for a university place after you’ve got your exam results.
It might be that you’ve yet to apply, you might have missed the grades you needed for your original offer, you might want to trade up if you’ve done better, or you could have changed your mind about what or where you want to study; Clearing lets you explore courses that still have spaces.
You can contact universities directly to discuss your options. If they offer you a place, you can add them as your Clearing choice through UCAS.
It’s not just a backup plan. For a lot of students, it’s a chance to rethink and find something that’s a better fit.
