Melanie Kreye

Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management, School for Business and Society

Prof Melanie Kreye is a Professor and Chair of Operations and Supply Chain Management at the School for Business and Society, University of York. She joined the school from the Technical University of Denmark.

Her academic work focuses on sustainable operations and supply chain management with key themes evolving around the circular supply chains (their structure and governance), services and inter-organizational relationships and their role in creating a sustainable future. Her work focuses on research questions, such as how complex service arrangements respond to major (geo-political) disruptions, how sustainable production practices scale in supply networks, and how circular supply relationships can be governed.

Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Omega – The International Journal of Management Science, the International Journal of Operations & Production Management, and Production Planning and Control.

She is an Associate Editor at the International Journal of Operations & Production Management and a Board member at the European Operations Management Association (EurOMA).
