Stella Chiemela
PhD study: Analysis of the relationship between climate change, conflict, and food insecurity in Nigeria
Stella has a master’s degree in Agroecology and Sustainable Development from Mekelle University, Ethiopia, and a BAgric in Agricultural Economics from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. Her research interests include sustainable agriculture, environmental & natural resource conservation, climate change, gender, rural economy, and food security. Aiming to provide entry point for effective policies, her doctoral study seeks to isolate the root causes of resource use conflict in Nigeria, to the point where it (resource use conflict) can be effectively addressed. She belongs to the Creating Sustainable and Equitable Food, Energy and Water Systems research group at UoY. Stella has published research papers in international peer-reviewed academic journals.
