Paulo Santos Monteiro
Paulo is a Senior Lecturer in economics at the University of York in the UK. Previously he was at the University of Warwick, and Paulo obtained his PhD at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
Paulo's research interests are in macroeconomic policy, international economics, and labor economics. He is currently working on topics related to macroeconomic stabilization policies, trade and business cycles, automatic stabilizers & social insurance programs.
More recently, as part of the Global Fund “National Dialogues” Project, Paulo started studying how better fiscal policy design can help low-income countries obtain good health and economic resilience, together with macroeconomic sustainability.
