Our teaching staff have been recognised with prestigious awards such as Advance HE National Teaching Fellowships in Biology, an Advance HE Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence and a Fellowship of the Royal College of Midwives.

Biological Sciences is ranked in the top 10 overall in the UK according to the Times Higher Education’s ranking of the latest REF results.
Hull York Medical School and the Department of Health Sciences research is ranked 6th in the UK for research power in the Times Higher Education ranking of the latest REF results, with over 92% of our research rated as world-leading (4*) for impact.
