This module aims to bridge the gap between psychological research and real-world practices and applications and to introduce you to diverse careers that apply psychology in the working world. In-depth discussion of educational, clinical and occupational Psychology will be complemented by personal insights from professionals into a range of careers that a Psychology degree prepares you for. A group challenge will give hands-on experience of implementing psychological findings to a real-world problem and give an opportunity to explore and test personal strengths.
This course will cover three key areas of Applied Psychology, Occupational, Educational and Clinical/Counselling Psychology. There will be lectures on the key theories and practices for each area. There will also be material from practitioners from the professional areas who will provide insight into their role and how to access careers within their professions. There will also be content that directly supports students’ employability. This will include a focus on the understanding and development of key employability skills
