Enrolment 2025/26

All new and returning students are required to enrol at the start of each academic year.

You can do this online before arriving on campus. Please ensure you enrol by the deadline.

Enrolment deadlines

York Online students - for students commencing studies on Monday 8 September 2025, you will need to complete your module selection and payment by 11.59pm (GMT) on Tuesday 2 September 2025.

Postgraduate research - 14 days from the anniversary of your start date.

Continuing undergraduate and postgraduate taught students - 14 days from the return of your leave of absence.

New undergraduate and postgraduate taught students - Friday 19 September 2025.

New students for Semester 1 (2025/26)

From 1 August 2025, you will receive an email with the title ‘University of York Joining Instructions’ containing information about setting up or upgrading your IT account and enrol online.

New postgraduate researchers (2025/26)

Postgraduate researchers can begin their course from the first of any month.

If you have met all the conditions of your offer, you should be invited to enrol at least 3 weeks before your course start date.

You will receive an email with the title ‘University of York Joining Instructions’ containing information about setting up or upgrading your IT account and enrolling online.

If you have received the email and cannot enrol after this date, please email student-records@york.ac.uk as soon as possible.

New 'York Online' postgraduate taught students who have received an unconditional firm offer

You will receive an email from your Admissions Adviser detailing next steps and advising when enrolment opens for your chosen start date.

You will subsequently receive an email with the title 'University of York Joining Instructions' just before enrolment opens, containing information about setting up or upgrading your IT account and how to enrol online.

Continuing students Semester 1 (2025/26)

Undergraduate students from 4 August 2025.
Postgraduate students from 8 September 2025.

From the date shown above, returning students will receive an email titled 'University of York online enrolment 2025/6' inviting them to enrol by logging into e:Vision using their username and password.

If you have received the email and cannot enrol after this date, please email student-records@york.ac.uk.

Continuing 'York Online' postgraduate taught students

You will receive an email inviting you to enrol as you approach the end of each year of study. You will be asked to check your details and confirm whether the information is correct. You will not be able to access e:vision until you complete your annual enrolment.
