Module aims

The module requires students to apply their learning from prior modules in order to initiate and develop an idea for a new business venture, including the preparation and presentation of a detailed business plan. The module is also designed to develop the ability of students to work in teams.

Module learning outcomes

Subject Content:
Understand and apply key aspects of new venture creation and development, including: deciding upon a business idea, developing a value proposition for customers, and refining a business model to deliver the value proposition to customers.

Academic and graduate skills/qualities:

  • Understand the interaction between various key functional areas within Management.
  • Acquire and organise information from a wide range of source materials.
  • Analyse and prepare solutions to an increasingly complex set of business problems.
  • Demonstrate and utilise the skills necessary for effective group and teamwork.
