Module summary
This module explores cutting edge research being conducted by staff in our department. Every week, a member of staff will introduce you to their research and provide you the opportunity to experience it further in an interactive seminar. In addition, students will learn about and tour the world leading research facilities at the University of York.

Module aims
Subject content aims:
Develop students’ understanding of environmental science issues
Become familiar with world leading research facilities and instrumentation
Discuss current research trends and future research directions
Academic and employability skills aims:
Develop skills in critically assessing and synthesising research
Effectively make arguments in various forums (discussions, debates, campaigns etc)

Portfolio task: staff will set a task corresponding to their week and the students will submit a portfolio where they chose 5/7 tasks to submit for assessment.
