ISEP (International Student Exchange Programme) is a non-profit educational organisation dedicated to helping students to realise their internationalisation goals.
Where can I go with ISEP?
The ISEP Exchange programme offers great opportunities for you to study abroad in over 50 countries; start by looking at the ISEP Exchange destinations. ISEP Exchange is based on the balance of students exchanging places. Depending on demand, some ISEP Exchange host universities will have limited spaces.
Only ISEP Exchange is available to York students.
Am I eligible to study abroad with ISEP?
ISEP Study Abroad programmes are available to York students on an additional year abroad programme only (credit-replacing exchange is not possible).
If you apply for an ISEP Study Abroad programme, you cannot apply for Study Exchange.
How much will it cost to study abroad on an ISEP programme?
As a participant, you pay a fee to York based on the cost of regular tuition, fees, housing and meals, thus creating a “space” and set of benefits for an incoming student. Each incoming student makes a similar arrangement at his or her home institution, creating a “space” and a set of benefits for you at your host institution.
To help you decide if an ISEP programme is suitable for you, have a look at the summary of ISEP costs and support.
ISEP Exchange: you’ll pay tuition fees to University of York, and no tuition fees to the host university.
ISEP Exchange Programme Fee (ISEP Exchange): you’ll pay this fee to University of York, and is based on the cost of self-catered accommodation (40 weeks) at York. The equivalent in value will be available to you at the host institution, and it usually covers housing (this may be shared accommodation in the private sector/on campus) and meals at your host institution. This may come in the form of a stipend to go towards the cost of housing and meals, and may take a few weeks to be paid to you by the host institution. You must ensure you have sufficient funds to cover expenses during this initial period and budget accordingly. Visit the host institution’s ISEP Exchange profile page and the pricing overview for ISEP Exchange before you internally apply to check what’s available at the destinations you’re applying for.
