The University of York values the diversity brought by its individual members and aims to create a welcoming, tolerant and respectful environment for all students, staff and visitors.
We provide the information and links here to help students to make contact with members of their faith in the York area, or to find people willing to discuss matters of faith and belief.
If you do not find the information you are looking for, please contact Student Support Services (student-hub@york.ac.uk).
All students are welcome to contact the full-time Anglican, Methodist and Roman Catholic chaplains. The chaplains have email lists you can join to receive information about their events and activities. The chaplains are independent of the University; appointed by their faith organisations to minister to the University community.
Local contacts are available for main world faiths and a range of Christian denominations. All of the faith contacts will be happy to answer your questions and provide you with information about the activities of the local faith communities.
The University provides a number of dedicated spaces for prayer and reflection on campus.
