Research staff

‌Our courses for research staff are organised under the four main categories of Vitae's Researcher Development Framework. 

You can enrol on any of the staff courses listed below by accessing the University's Learning Management System (LMS) (you will need your York username and password to sign in). 

Research organisation and governance

The standards, requirements and professionalism to do research.

Workshops include Academic Integrity and Ethics, Grant Writing and Project Management.

Careers and Personal effectiveness

Workshops include Career Planning for Research Staff, Influence and Persuasion, and Time Management. These are bookable via the LMS. Bespoke one to one consultations are also offered subject to availability. Online resources and podcasts to support career management are available here and throughout Vitae. 

Engagement, influence and impact

The knowledge and skills to work with others and ensure the wider impact of research.

Workshops include Partnership Building and Public Engagement of Research.

Knowledge and intellectual abilities

The knowledge, intellectual abilities and techniques to do research.

Workshops include Data Protection, Research Data Management and Searching the Literature.
