This year we are hosting two Research Staff Conferences to celebrate the great research taking place at York and to give you an opportunity to consider your career options.

Draft Programmes

Call for contributions

We invite you to contribute to these events by submitting an abstract.

Please use this form to submit an abstract for either an 8 minute talk or an abstract for a poster explaining your research to the wider research community.

Abstracts should describe your research focus and its importance, how it is being conducted (or will be conducted) and who the beneficiaries are.

Please complete the form by Monday 8th April. If your presentation abstract is accepted you will be invited to attend a FREE training in giving short, effective and engaging presentations - a skill that is becoming ever more important not just at conferences but also for job interviews.

Preparing for Fellowship Success

This 1.5 day retreat is for postdocs and early career researchers who are committed to producing a draft Fellowship application. 

Dates: Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 March 2019
Venue: Mercure Hotel, Skelton, York

Mentoring and Coaching

Mentoring is available to all research staff. Paired with a colleague, the objective-led scheme provides you with the time and space to consider your research, professional and career goals.
Coaching is also freely availabe to all researchers. Matched with a trained coach, this focussed activity will help you to enhance existing skills, develop a new approach and progress goals.
