The Department of Social Policy and Social Work offers modules with real-world relevance on a variety of topics. We are pleased to welcome students and researchers from all over the world.

Undergraduate students

Your application should indicate any particular areas of interest relating to social policy, issues relevant to children and young people or criminal justice. Students with a background in social science and/or public policy will be particularly welcome.

Choosing your modules

Please see list of modules, this list is indicative of the type of module which may be available during your study period. Please note that not all modules are available to exchange and visiting students. We will contact you after you have accepted your place at York to discuss your module choices.

Postgraduate students

Postgraduate taught students will normally be expected to have at least a 2:1 undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification. You will also be considered if you have relevant work experience and academic potential.

Your application should indicate your areas of interest relevant to our postgraduate courses.

Undergraduate and postgraduate English language requirements
