Visas and immigration
If you're from outside the EU you may need to apply for a visa in order to become a full-time student in the UK.
Find out whether you will need a visa, how to apply and what documents you may need:
For general information see UK Visas and Immigration (gov.uk).
EU advice: non-UK EU students will not need a visa to study in the UK. During the transition period the UK remains a member of the EU and remains bound by EU legislation. Non-UK EU students retain the right to remain under the current arrangements.
Tier 4 Visa Pilot
The University of York are part of the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) pilot scheme for students who are studying a taught Masters degree. The University of York was selected by the Home Office, as our visa refusal rates are consistently the lowest in the region.
Students on a Tier 4 Visa are not currently permitted to study part-time at York.
