We look forward to welcoming you!
This guide helps with additional tasks that international students need to do once you confirm that you're coming to York. It should be read along with our information for new undergraduates or new postgraduates.
The 2020/21 academic year will start in September as planned following our usual term dates. How we deliver our courses will depend on government guidance on social distancing at the time. We are preparing for all different scenarios in order to maintain the excellent teaching offered at York.
Currently, postgraduate arrivals day is Monday 21 September 2020 and international undergraduates can arrive from Friday 25 September 2020. However, arrivals may take place over a larger number of days to allow for any quarantine requirements and social distancing measures in place at the time. You will be notified of your actual arrival date closer to the start of term.
If you’ve booked University accommodation and are travelling from abroad and told to quarantine, we will offer you a free room for the two weeks quarantine period before term starts. We'll also help with food and shopping.
