We look forward to welcoming you!
This guide helps with additional tasks that international students need to do once you confirm that you're coming to York. It should be read along with our information for new undergraduates or new postgraduates.
The 2020/21 academic year will start in September as planned following our usual term dates. We are preparing for all different scenarios in order to maintain the excellent teaching offered at York.
Arrival dates for new students in University accommodation are:
- Postgraduates: Saturday 19 to Monday 21 September 2020
- International and EU undergraduates from Thursday 24 September 2020
- UK undergraduates and International pre-sessional students from 26 to 29 September
You will need to book an arrivals slot if arriving on these main arrivals days. Bookings will open in September once your accommodation and college have been confirmed.
If you’ve booked University accommodation, are travelling from abroad and told to self-isolate (quarantine), we can offer you a free room for the two weeks before the arrival dates detailed above. We'll also help with food and shopping. Make sure you tell the accommodation team when you will be arriving.
If you are not living in University accommodation, you will need to contact your landlord.
