Module aims
You will produce a portfolio that enables you to develop a specialism with the field of digital media, culture and communication. This dissertation by portfolio module allows you to explore your chosen topic in a sustained, structured and detailed format, and to develop different insights and knowledge. You will choose a focal topic for your work, then write an issue statement to set up the issue, produce a literature review to show your knowledge of the existing work in the field, complete a case study, produce a media component to exemplify your ideas, develop an analysis of the issues with a reflective discussion and then finalise your findings with statement of conclusion. This portfolio project will enable you to develop a specialism in your chosen area of interest whilst also further developing your communication skills by articulating your ideas and findings in the core components of the portfolio. Our aim is to provide you with the support, guidance and resources to explore your interests in depth and to engage in a sustained combination of critical analysis with creative output based upon your accumulated skills, creativity, knowledge and communication capabilities.
