Module aims
This module will provide students with an opportunity to engage in a real world project in response to a brief from an external partner organisation. It aims to allow students to use a range of skills and knowledge already gained from the degree programme and to apply them to real world issues experienced by external organisations. Students will develop an awareness of their skills and knowledge through this application, and will further develop their team working skills to produce an output suitable for a non-academic audience.

Module content
This module provides students with the opportunity to experience a real world project in practice, and to reflect critically upon the experience. Students will work in small teams to a brief provided by an external partner organisation, and will critically reflect on their experience and the relationship to wider issues in Psychology, especially in the areas of wellbeing and mental health. Projects change from year to year, but will support organisations with issues around mental health or wellbeing. This could include conducting literature reviews to support funding applications, capturing stories from those with lived experiences or designing and implementing evaluation or perceptions of services.
Throughout the module, students will be supported by a series of workshops to introduce them to professional skills, such as project management and teamwork as well as project-specific knowledge, such as marketing or podcasting.
Project facilitators will also provide support and guidance throughout the project.
