Module aims
PGRs in receipt of an ESRC/WRDTP 2.0 scholarship are required to complete a 3.0 month FTE Research in Practice experience.
The ESRC states that Research in Practice is ‘a core component of the doctoral experience for all ESRC funded students’.
Research in Practice will give PGRs the practical opportunity to develop their transferrable skills and apply their research skills in different contexts. Placements are an opportunity to build public engagement skills and develop networks. Placements may also have the potential for PGRs to make an impact early in their career and help to address real world challenges. The placements will also provide added value for both the host organisation and the DTP.
