This module supports your development as a researcher by giving you the opportunity to complete a substantial written project of your own choosing.

Module learning outcomes

By the end of this module, you should:

  • have a wide knowledge of written and sounding materials and other research tools as appropriate to your areas of interest;

  • be using those tools with assurance;

  • have gained a wide experience of previous and current work relevant to your new or expanded research areas;

  • have wide experience in applying to your research findings a larger range of critical tools drawn from musicology and related disciplines as appropriate;

  • know how to contextualize, critically assess and articulate their findings in a sophisticated way.
