Module aims
- To enhance the student midwife's confidence and competence to facilitate normal birth, recognising deviation from normal and taking appropriate action.
- To provide the student with the opportunity to care for women on the postnatal/antenatal area under indirect supervision.
- To consolidate hospital-based midwifery practice.
Module learning outcomes
This module will enable the student to:
- Identify and review personal learning needs and opportunities that facilitate their development in association with their practice supervisor/assessor.
- Progress towards competence in relation to the agreed midwifery competencies (Stage Three).
- Achieve competence in selected generic Performance Skills Outcomes.
