Module aims
To enhance the student midwife's confidence and competence to facilitate normal birth, recognising deviation from normal and taking appropriate action.
To provide the student with the opportunity to care for women on the postnatal/antenatal area under indirect supervision.
To consolidate hospital-based midwifery practice.
Module learning outcomes
This module will enable the student to:
Identify and review personal learning needs and opportunities that facilitate their development in association with their practice supervisor/assessor.
Progress towards competence in relation to the agreed midwifery competencies (Stage Three).
Achieve competence in selected generic Performance Skills Outcomes.
