Making a new home for the York Management School to facilitate its continued growth.
A fantastic new facility for York Management School will open in early 2021.
The brand-new building with bespoke teaching and learning spaces is in its final stages and will be complete at the end of 2020, ready for the Management School to move in in the new year. The building lies on Church Lane at the edge of Campus West, in a central location for students based on either campus to easily access.
As well as modern teaching spaces there will also be a large high-quality café available for students and staff to enjoy some well-deserved down time.
Work started on site in autumn 2019 and was due to complete in summer 2020. However, due to the Covid19 pandemic, the building work will not be finished until the end of 2020. The Management School will move in at the beginning of 2021.
The former Smith and Nephew Building is located on the York Science Park, off Church Lane.
Due to the success and growth of The York Management School the decision has been taken to relocate to larger premises to facilitate their continued growth.
- Designing a building to adequately accommodate the growing York Management School
- Increasing the University's portfolio of teaching and learning spaces
- Creating a modern and flexible working environment and innovative outdoor social spaces
- Providing initial decant space to assist with the Campus Development Plan
- Enhancing parking provision on campus
The design is being developed using a sustainable approach, reusing items and sourcing pre-owned, good quality furniture where possible.
How will this affect me?
During work on site there may be increased pedestrian and road traffic (including construction vehicles) on Church Lane to access the site.
There may be some noise from any external works however this will be kept to a minimum and will only take place during office hours.
