A multi-disciplinary centre of the Chemistry, Psychology and Biology departments, created to advance research on hyperpolarisation in MRI.
- Brings together clinicians with imaging expertise, neuroscientists and leaders in hyperpolarisation technology, supported through a network of existing scientific, clinical, and industrial collaborations within and outside York.
- Links clinical needs and application with the most up-to-date scientific knowledge in hyperpolarisation and contrast agents.
- Provides a commercial route for the rapid development of novel imaging technologies.
- Principal objective will be to propel the technological developments in hyperpolarisation through to clinical practice and disease management.
CHyM has been developed adjacent to the BioCentre on York Science Park, alongside York Neuroimaging Centre (YNIC), with an additional MRI scanner sited in the Department of Biology.
