Adult learning
The Centre for Lifelong Learning (CLL) offers a range of part-time, open access learning opportunities to the local community, as well as a number of distance learning courses. Additional classes for adult learners are also offered by Languages for All (LFA).
We offer public lectures every semester on a wide variety of topics.

Outreach

Working closely with teachers, advisers and other partners, we offer a range of interactive outreach and recruitment activities and programmes.

We have a dedicated Chemistry Schools Liaison and Outreach programme specific to which offers activities suitable for students of all ages, teaching resources and development for primary teachers.
Sports and recreation

Includes indoor and outdoor facilities for use by the University and the local community.

Open to both students and non-students, the Students' Union has over 50 sport clubs.

Arts and culture

See a play presented by student groups at the Drama Barn or other local venues.

We are home to two art galleries featuring work from local and international artists, and have sculptures across campus.
