Module summary

This module gives you a chance to produce either a dissertation or a media artefact in response to a question or topic that relates to areas of enquiry that interest them the most.

Module aims

In this module, you will be able to apply your knowledge, methods, and skills learned from earlier course modules directly to a question or topic related to your chosen specialist area or particular interest. You will be supported by a supervisor throughout.

Module learning outcomes

Through completion of this module, you are expected to be able to:

  • Define project specifications to address a clear research question with a relevant methodology.
  • Autonomously manage open-ended project or dissertation work and research, identifying and defining a complex question and applying appropriate skills and knowledge
  • Demonstrate a specialist knowledge and understanding of your chosen topic.
  • Synthesise and critically evaluate a range of primary and secondary evidence.
  • Structure and present a substantial piece of written work.

You will choose to complete one of 2 asessments worth 100% of the module, either:

A 12,000 word dissertation

OR

A media artefact with 6,000 word reflective report
