Module aims

This project is aimed at instrumentalists and designed to enhance and develop skills in chamber music performance. The project has regular coached contact and class performances where work in progress is played to the whole group.

Module learning outcomes

At the end of the taught part of this project, you should have:

  • developed a method of working with other musicians
  • developed an understanding of the skills that are necessary in making chamber music work: the ability to listen to each other carefully; to know in detail your group's parts and not just your own; to plan effective rehearsals; to identify those elements of the music that require the most work and find a working method to overcome those difficulties.
  • developed interpretational skills appropriate to the repertoire.

Third years: On completion of the module, in your independent work, you should demonstrate Learning Outcomes C8
