Module aims
This module aims to provide students with a detailed and foundational knowledge base for the study of operations, logistics and supply chain management. Strategic in perspective, the module considers all aspects of managing (and improving) the way businesses operate within a global context. This practice based module incorporates real world examples and game-based simulation to cover all aspects of managing business operations, from the setting of performance objectives, to the design, delivery and improvement of operations both internally and across supply chains to deliver world-class logistics and supply chain management. Students can expect to gain a comprehensive understanding of operations, logistics and supply chain management that provides a robust platform for the advanced study of sustainable supply chain management alongside a more technical study of supply chain analytics in semester 2.

Module content
This module provides a comprehensive foundation for the study of logistics and supply chain management. Strategic in perspective, the module focuses on how to manage operations both within organisations and across the broader supply chain. Students will develop a detailed and robust understanding in preparation for advanced study in semester 2.
