Module summary

Learners will explore theory of change management. Explore safety, risk and quality. They will use information from audit and research and draw upon the theories of how people work in teams to develop a change management plan.

Module aims

Develop students’ abilities to be effective change managers and leaders in healthcare settings.

Module learning outcomes

By the end of the module, students will be able to:
1. Identify opportunities to engage with stakeholders to improve services and care
quality.

2. Discriminate between change management strategies.
3. Apply appropriate change management strategies to improve the quality of care.
4. Lead, manage and coordinate teams based on an understanding of the human factors that impact
on services and quality care.
5. Critically evaluate different types of evidence that inform an understanding of leadership,
change management and service improvement.

Human factors - power/ Educating others (professionals), Power / Horizontal violence, Equality & Diversity /

Delegation / Confidence , Safety & risk/ Quality and risk (including safe staffing) /
Recommendations /Reflection - PDSA, Delegation / Safety & risk, power/ Educating others
