This module provides students with an opportunity to further develop their field and research skills in a UK setting. The module will involve a fieldtrip that will focus on a contemporary environmental challenge. Possible issues that the module may explore include: river and coastal flooding; rewilding and conservation; mitigation and adaptation to climate change.

Apply skills and knowledge from prior learning to a contemporary UK environmental challenge.
Further develop student’s field and research skills within a new environment.
Provide opportunities to work in multidisciplinary teams and adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to address and explore a contemporary environmental challenge.
Build communication skills
Apply relevant field and research techniques to investigate and understand a contemporary environmental challenge in a UK setting.
Work in a multi-disciplinary team to address a challenge from multiple perspectives and design possible solutions.
Communicate complex ideas with non-specialist audiences.
