Module summary
This capstone module provides you with an opportunity to undertake an independent project in a writing specialism of your choosing, which might take the form of a single extended work of prose, poetry, scriptwriting, or a collection of shorter pieces. You will be guided in the planning and development of your creative project through close supervision by an academic staff member, while also strengthening your ability to reflect upon and relate your writing practice to relevant critical questions.
The creative component of the dissertation should be between 14,000 and 16,000 words for prose or script, 16-20 pages of poetry, or an agreed equivalent. This will include a critical essay of 3,000 words, which relates your practice to key texts, ideas, and the research and development process behind it.
