Here's what we can help you with and where to find the resources for the services we don't provide.
Space Planning manages and develops university spaces to support teaching, learning, research, and the student experience. We allocate and optimise space according to guidance to meet the University's needs, ensuring maximum functionality and utilisation for all users.

Our services include:
- The management and allocation of space
- Designing space layouts
- Consultancy and advice on space usage
- Teaching room furniture and layout improvements
- Mothballing and building closures
- Departmental moves

Services we don't provide
Unfortunately, we can't help you with the following, but we know who you need to ask.
- Issues with maintenance, heating and cleaning should be reported to the Facilities Helpdesk
- Timetabling, Room bookings and layout change requests are managed through the Room bookings and Timetabling team
- Internal and external conferences and events are managed by York Conferences and Events
- If you have any room capacity questions please contact Workplace Health & Safety
- External and fire signage can be requested via the Facilities Helpdesk
- Keys can be requested via the Facilities Helpdesk. We don't hold or distribute any keys.
- Collection of unwanted books can be arranged by contacting Clare Simpson (simpsoncl@bhf.org.uk), at the British Heart Foundation
- The Equality and Diversity Office can advise on issues relating to equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Marketing banners can be ordered via Design and Print Solutions
