Thur 13 Aug	A level results day / accommodation room offer emails start to send
Mon 17/Tues 18 Aug	'Joining instructions' emails sent from Student Records inviting students to enrol
Tues 25 Aug	Welcome events programme published on York SU website
W/B 7 Sep (TBC)	Campus accommodation room numbers confirmed to students / Google Classrooms open
Wed 16 Sep	Academic timetable released STYC/STYM training event - contact east-colleges-community@york.ac.uk for information

Arrivals key dates 2026

Students from overseas and postgraduate students living on campus are not restricted to a single arrivals day and collect their keys (8am-8pm) from:

Information Centre (for Campus West colleges)
Ron Cooke Hub (for Campus East colleges)

Undergraduates living on campus have to book an arrivals slot with their college (between 9am-5pm). Key collection for UK undergraduates on Friday 18 - Sunday 20 September is from key collection points at:

STEM Centre (for Campus West colleges)
Church Lane Building (for Campus East colleges)

Key induction activities

Key online induction courses:
- Understanding consent and being an active bystander (VLE)
- Campus accommodation pre-arrival induction (if relevant) (Kinetics)
York for Life new student online chat groups
All new students receive an invite via their personal email address.
Google Classrooms college induction
New undergraduates and new resident postgraduates receive an invite to their UoY email address from W/B 7 September 2026.

Headline welcome events

The welcome events programme is finalised by the end of August 2026. Paid-for events tickets go on sale from the York SU website on Tuesday 25 August 2026.
