When to arrive

Your undergraduate arrival day is Saturday 16 September 2023. Accommodation Services will email your University of York email account with a link to the induction module and ask you to book a one-hour arrival slot.

If you are a postgraduate, you can arrive from the date on your room offer. Welcome activities and induction events will begin from Monday 11 September 2023.

Arrivals day

1. Getting here

Find detailed travel information on the maps, directions and parking web pages.

If you are arriving by car, please sign up for an arrival slot via your accommodation offer. This will help our college teams to manage the large number of students arriving on campus. As we have limited car parking spaces, we ask that you follow this process to help minimise congestion.

2. Collect your key and meet the team.

When you arrive at Anne Lister, you’ll be welcomed by the College Team and other volunteers. They’ll direct you where to go. Don't be afraid to ask them for help!

After meeting the College Team you can pick up your keycard and be directed to your room. Please remember to bring a form of photo ID.

If you’re arriving after 5pm, you’ll need to collect your keycard from the Campus East reception (located in the Law and Sociology Building).

3. Move into your room

Once you have your key card, it’s time to find your room and begin moving in.

Your College Team will be around all day to help with any questions or problems you may have.

4. Say hi to your flatmates

Once you’re familiar with your new surroundings and have unpacked your belongings, why not say hi to your flatmates? Your kitchen is usually a good place to do so.

The College Team will be in touch soon, to let you know about the weeks ahead.

Keeping up to date

As we get closer to the start of the semester, we'll email you with information and advice on how to prepare. These emails will be sent to your University of York email account. Find any that you may have missed below.

Your first weeks

During your first week, Anne Lister College and our Students’ Unions will deliver a programme of introductory activities, led by our student committee, to welcome you to our college, help you get to know fellow students and enjoy all that Anne Lister College has to offer.
