
New students and arrivals
We’re looking forward to you joining us at Anne Lister College!

Before you arrive
- Have a look at the new student welcome pages, including how to register and what to bring.
- Complete the Anne Lister pre-arrival survey.
Your room number
Accommodation services will email you with your room number and block/flat. If you have any accommodation queries, get in touch with the Accommodation team.
- The letter at the start (L) tells you that your room is in Anne Lister
- The next letters/number is your block
- The following digits are your room number
- The first of the digits will inform which floor you’re on
For example: L/F1/015 is block F1, room 015, ground floor.

When to arrive
A few weeks before you are due to move into Anne Lister College, we’ll email your University of York account, with a link for you to book an arrival slot.
- Our arrival day is Sunday 26 September
Please note: It is not possible to arrive any earlier than this date as the college will still be being prepared beforehand. If you have particular problems please email lister@york.ac.uk

1. Getting here

Car travel
On arrival you should park in the Catalyst Car Park on Campus East. Please leave your belongings in your car until you’ve collected your university keycard and have been greeted by your College Team.
2. Collect your key and meet the team.
When you arrive at Anne Lister, you’ll be welcomed by the College Team and other volunteers. They’ll direct you where to go. Don't be afraid to ask them for help!
After meeting the College Team you can pick up your keycard and be directed to your room. Please remember to bring a form of photo ID.
If you’ve booked an arrival time after 5pm, you should collect your keycard from the reception in the Ron Cooke Hub.

3. Move into your room
Once you have your key card, it’s time to find your room and begin moving in.
Your College Team will be around all day to help with any questions or problems you may have.

4. Say hi to your flatmates
Once you’re familiar with your new surroundings and have unpacked your belongings, why not say hi to your flatmates? Your kitchen is usually a good place to do so.

Keeping up to date
As the start of term nears, we’ll email you helpful information and advice on how to prepare. Emails will be sent to your University of York email account. Find any that you may have missed below.
Your first weeks
During your first week, Anne Lister College and our Students’ Unions will deliver a programme of introductory activities, led by our student committee, to welcome you to our college, help you get to know fellow students and enjoy all that Anne Lister College has to offer.
