Accommodation refurbishments

An ongoing project to update our student accommodation

Project overview

  • Upgrading kitchen and bathroom facilities in Halifax College
  • Refurbishing Derwent College K block studio accommodation
  • Refurbishing vanity units and bathrooms in Derwent College M block

When?

This phase of refurbishment started in summer 2018 and is ongoing. Work on Derwent M block will begin in summer 2019.

Where?

Current refurbishments are focusing on Younger, Ingram, Wood and Lindley courts in Halifax College and Derwent College K and M blocks.

Progress

Halifax College

  • Electrical works have been completed in Ingram, Wood and Lindley courts, to prepare for kitchen upgrades.
  • Full kitchen upgrades in Younger and Ingram Courts have been completed. 
  • Work to replace second floor bathrooms in these blocks is ongoing. 

Derwent College

  • Derwent K block studio accommodation refurbishment has been completed. This involved replacing furniture, fitting new desk units and converting baths to showers.
  • Work to replace vanity units and refurbish bathrooms in Derwent M block will begin in summer 2019.
