While we understand the need for people to drive to, and park at the University, we encourage staff, students and visitors to consider other means of transport where possible; to reduce air pollution and carbon emissions and make our campus and your journey more sustainable.
If you wish to park on campus, you will need to have a valid parking permit (purchased from the online parking permit system), or you will need to buy a pay and display ticket.
We do not issue physical permits for display in vehicles. Car registration plates are checked against the online permit system. It is important to update your vehicle registration if you are using a different car, whether temporarily or permanently.
The King's Manor car park will close on Thursday 16 July 2026. Staff are advised not to park there after this date, as the site will no longer be owned by the University of York.
