Anthony is a Managing Partner with Gartner, Inc., the world's leading information technology research and advisory company. He has wide experience advising government agencies and businesses in both the United Kingdom and United States, specializing in public-sector strategy and technologies. He completed a Masters degree in Public Administration at the University of Pennsylvania in 2005 and worked as consultant for Accenture in UK. From 1996-2003 he was a reserve soldier in the British Army, Royal Corps of Signals.

Meet our volunteer members who are all US-based residents who are active ambassadors for York in the United States.
Charlie Jeffery (President), Vice-Chancellor and President
Professor Jeffery has been the University's Vice-Chancellor and President since September 2019. He has a deep-rooted interest in how university research and education can serve the general benefit of society, or public good. He has worked to bring together the University with local authorities, businesses, other universities and colleges to promote inclusive economic development, and to open up access to university study and economic opportunity to people from disadvantaged backgrounds - both in the UK and internationally.
Anthony Hollingworth (Vice-President), Philosophy, Politics and Economics, Wentworth, 2000
Anthony graduated from York in 2000 with a BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He was a member of Wentworth Graduate College and the University Rugby Football Club. Anthony also represented York in the North American exchange programme at the University of Illinois in 1998-99. While at York he met his wife, Megan, while she was completing a semester abroad programme in the English department. They now reside in New Jersey with their daughters Emma and Ruby. They are enthusiastic supporters of the University especially to support others with the international opportunities they enjoyed.
Mary Haworth (Secretary), Director of Philanthropic Partnerships and Alumni
Mary came to York to take up the role of Director of Philanthropic Partnerships and Alumni in 2011. Prior to York, Mary was Deputy Director of Development at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and before that Development Manager for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Newcastle.
Mary’s role is to lead the team and direct the development and implementation of York’s philanthropic fundraising strategy and engagement programmes in order to encourage and facilitate philanthropic support from charities, individual donors, alumni and businesses. Mary has an MSc in Charity Marketing and Fundraising from Cass Business School, and is a fully certified member of the Institute of Fundraising Management.
Kelly O’Donnell, Medieval Studies, Wentworth, 2002
Since graduating from the University of York in 2002 with a Masters in Medieval Studies, Kelly O,Donnell has worked in New York City as an Advertising & Promotion Paralegal. She has wide-ranging advertising and promotions law experience and has worked extensively with counsel around the world to vet and implement domestic and international promotions.
She currently support the Advertising, Marketing & Public Relations Group lawyers at Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz in counselling clients on social media, sweepstakes, contests, coupons, gift cards, rebates, Web site terms of use, privacy policies, and other promotions and advertising-related issues. Kelly also assists for-profit companies implementing cause-related marketing programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Prior to joining Frankfurt Kurnit, she was an advertising and entertainment paralegal with Manatt Phelps & Phillips LLP and Loeb & Loeb LLP. Prior to starting the Masters Program at University of York, Kelly also worked for Random House, Time Warner Books and MTV Networks.
Kelly graduated from Michigan State University with BA in History and English in 1998. She acquired a Certificate of Completion from New York University’s Summer Publishing Institute in the summer of 1998. Kelly has also published a novella entitled Blood on the Moon in 2010.
Kelly is a committed donor to the University of York in America, US International Connections Fund.
David Lee, Economics and Econometrics, Halifax, 2005
As the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative’s Chief Investment Officer, David Lee is responsible for managing CZI’s investment portfolio which funds the organization’s efforts across science, education and justice and opportunity.
David came to CZI from the Princeton University Investment Company where he worked on asset allocation and the marketable asset categories, including domestic equity, international equity and independent return.
Prior to Princeton, David worked at ABN AMRO in London. He earned a first-class honors degree in Economics and Econometrics from the University of York (UK), holds an M.S. with Distinction specializing in Quantitative Finance from the University of Reading (UK), and received an M.B.A from the Yale School of Management. He is a CFA Charterholder.
Adam Gordon, Politics, 1990
Adam is the Founder and Managing Partner of The Bristol Group PLLC, a Washington, DC law firm that represents clients in all aspects of international trade law, including antidumping and countervailing (anti-subsidy) cases, appellate litigation, enforcement issues, legislative and policy initiatives, and Congressional affairs. Adam has practiced law since 1993. He received an MA in Politics from the University of York in 1990, and a BA in Political Science and International Relations from Yale University in 1988.
