I have additional requirements, how do I let you know about these?

- If you are struggling to upload documents to your accommodation application, please submit the application as normal, including any comments you want us to see and you can send these documents to us as an attachment at accommodation@york.ac.uk.
My friend is applying for accommodation at the University of York. Can we live together?
Unfortunately, we do not offer group bookings as part of our application process.
I only want to live with a specific gender, is this something I can request in my accommodation application?
This is not something we will be able to facilitate, all of our accommodation is mixed gender.
Facilities
Is the heating any good or should I prepare to bring blankets?
All of our accommodation is heated, it is turned off once the weather warms up in spring. We hope you're comfortable in your room, but it's always nice to have a blanket or big hoodie to hand for extra cosiness. Portable heaters aren't allowed.
Are we allowed to bring things from home, like blenders or air fryers?
We do not recommend bringing personal kitchen appliances onto campus. In your kitchen, you'll be provided with all of the essentials such as a fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster.
