York Mathematics Fellowship Development Bursary

The scheme is now closed (July 2026).

The York Mathematics Fellowship Development Bursary is an award of up to £1000 for an Early Career Researcher to visit York for one week to develop an application for an Early Career Fellowship to be held at York.

The visit should normally take place at least two months before the closure date of the relevant scheme. During the visit, we would offer professional and academic mentoring, a chance to give a seminar and to meet existing ECRs and staff. It is essential that the applicant has made contact with a staff member and has a workable date in mind for the visit.

Up to 3 awards are given per year. For candidates not able to travel there would be no financial component but we would offer virtual support and mentoring.

The bursary could be to support an application to any suitable scheme.  Please check the eligibility criteria carefully.

If you are interested in applying for the bursary then please contact the member of staff you wish to work with and complete the form.

Email the form and your CV to alexandra.lanot@york.ac.uk and cc victoria.gould@york.ac.uk with York Mathematics Fellowship Development Bursary in the subject line.
