Webfiles provides a web page for hosting large static files that are not suitable for the main York webservers, eg large data files.
Available to members of staff. To request this service, please contact the Library and IT Help Desk.
The service provides a large amount of storage for files that need to be shared to other people. The files are accessed via a web page which acts in a similar way to a file browser.
You can add access control if you wish to restrict files to just members of the University.
Webfiles works for all modern browsers.
Folder owners will need an SFTP client to upload files.
Webfiles is accessible from off campus. Therefore, sensitive data should be password protected or stored elsewhere.
