Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching

Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching provides faculty staff and students who study/work in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) with professional developer tools free of charge for purposes of academic teaching and research. These tools allow users to create cross-platform apps, manage application life cycles, and more. Students can use the tools to develop and create apps, games and websites.

Software available includes products such as Visual Studio, SQL Server, Windows 10, Windows Server and Visio.

Eligible staff and students can sign in using this link to access Azure Dev Tools for Teaching. Please log in using your University login credentials (username@york.ac.uk) and password.

Software acquired through a Microsoft Dev Tools for Teaching subscription may be installed on personal computers and on any number of departmental lab machines (depending on the licensing and courses the department offers) in a STEM department. The software must be used for instructional and research purposes. It may not be used for commercial gain or used by staff to run the infrastructure of the STEM department.
