History of Art Taught MA Studentships
The Department of History of Art is pleased to offer, on a competitive basis, up to three fee-waiver scholarships worth £9,990 each for applicants commencing their taught History of Art programme in Autumn 2023.
Open to students from the UK and overseas (including EU) only.
In order to be eligible you must also have an offer for a place on one of the following courses:
- MA History of Art
- MA History of Art (Architectural History and Theory)
- MA History of Art (British Art)
- MA History of Art (Medieval Art and Medievalisms)
- MA History of Art (Modern and Contemporary Art)
For all full-time, taught applicants holding an offer for study on a named programme.
Application deadline: Monday 22 May 2023, 11am BST
Further to your programme application, you should submit a statement of no more than 500 words which summarises your main academic and work-related achievements, your career aspirations, and a proposal for an MA dissertation which includes key research questions and demonstrates the topic's potential for development.

Applications for MA scholarships will be assessed on evidence of academic merit and on your personal statement.
Preference will be given to applicants who meet all the course requirements.
These studentships can be held alongside other University of York awards (eg our partnership studentships) but the total sum awarded cannot exceed the full-time tuition fee for the award holder. In this event, the total sum awarded will be capped.
Applicants who are liable to pay fees at the international rate will be required to pay all outstanding fees due once any awards have been discounted.
