About the tours

We have an undergraduate and a postgraduate campus tour, city tour and a tour for international students.
These are outdoor only tours.

You can download the app here on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, or search ‘Visit UoY’ in the app store on your device.
Once you have downloaded the app, you will be asked to download the guide. You will need to do this in order to access the tour and the audio files.
You should then see the ‘About This App’ home screen and you can select the tour using the navigation menu in the top left of the screen.

If you are doing the tour on campus, then the app will use geolocation services to guide you around. To enable this function, you will need to give the app permission to use your location services.
Enable on Android by swiping down from the top of your screen. Touch and hold ‘location’ and then press ‘app permission’. Select either ‘allowed all the time’ or ‘allowed only while in use’ to enable geolocation in the app.
Enable on an Apple device by clicking on the settings app and scrolling until you find the Visit UoY app on your app list. Click into the app and select the ‘while using the app’ option in the location tab.

We have a number of pay and display car parks on campus.
If you’re starting your tour on Campus West our Central Campus car park is the closest parking to the start of your tour.
If you are arriving at Campus East, you can use our Field Lane or Kimberlow Lane car parks.
There is also accessible parking available across campus, reserved for blue badge holders or staff and students with a valid University accessible parking permit.

Both the Campus East and Campus West tours will take you past several of our colleges.
