Your guide to travelling across campus

News

Posted on Thursday 10 September 2026

Use our inter-campus travel guide to help plan your route between Campus East, Campus West and the city centre.

Many of our students get around campus by foot, by bike or using our electric bus services. Travelling across campus and into the city centre is simple and sustainable, and it’s also a great way to keep physically active, which can benefit both your physical and mental wellbeing.

Cycling is a great choice if you can, with more than 5,000 cycle parking spaces and dedicated cycle routes available. We have secure cycle parking close to all main buildings, as well as free-to-use bike pumps. For more information, see our cycling web pages.

If you’d prefer to walk, Campus East and Campus West are within easy walking distance of each other, and the city centre is around a 30-minute walk from Campus West.

By cycling or walking, you’ll also avoid waiting for a bus and leave seats free for those who need them most.

In our inter-campus travel guide, we’ve worked out route maps and estimated journey times, so you don’t have to:
