Free creativity workshops

The Centre for Global Programmes is running free workshop sessions in weeks 8 to 10

The Centre for Global Programmes are offering a limited number of places to students on a mixed nationality Creativity programme during weeks 8 to 10. The other participants on the programme are visiting undergraduates of Tohoku University, Japan.

Six sessions over three weeks will be devoted to problem-solving exercises, thought experiments, interactive lectures and seminars on topics such as:

  • The argument for investing now in your creativity
  • Evaluating your current levels of creativity
  • Connecting and combining ideas: the essence of creativity
  • Challenging assumptions and reframing: resisting established patterns and finding new perspectives
  • Paying attention: seeing the world as if for the first time 
  • Attitude: taking creative risks and cultivating openness 

There is no course work on the programme. You only need to be free at the following times:

Week 8
Wednesday 27 February - 2.30pm to 4pm
Friday 1 of March - 2.15pm - 3.45pm

Week 9
Wednesday 6 March - 2.15pm to 3.45pm
Friday 8 March - 2.15pm to 3.45pm

Week 10
Monday 11 March - 2.15pm to 3.45pm
Wednesday 13 March - 2.15pm to 3.45pm

On completion of the programme you will be awarded with a certificate from the Centre for Global Programmes and advice about how best to present these experiences on your CV. You will also be eligible to collect credit toward the York award.
