Join Professor Lorenzo Fioramonti for the first open lecture of the Summer Term and explore what could be achieved through a post-Gross Domestic Product (GDP) system of development.

Lorenzo Fioramonti is Professor of Political Economy and Jean Monnet Chair for the Department of Political Sciences at the University of Pretoria. He will presenting this lecture, which will be on the topic of his new book, The World after GDP.

Gross Domestic Product has become the benchmark for success in our global economy, but following recent economic, social and environmental crises, Fioramonti argues that we should no longer measure prosperity and growth by GPD.

Fioramonti ptoposes a combination of top-down reforms and bottom-up pressures to reshape the way our society functions.

Join him for this lecture, which will be hosted by Professor Kate Pickett, Research Theme Chamion for Justice and Equality.

The lecture will be followed by a wine reception.
