Event details

The academic community prides itself on its critical ability. But constant criticism has a cost. Moreover, research is fraught with knockbacks from journals, job applications and funding rejections.

How we build confidence and retain our self- belief is pivotal to our success. Failure to do so leads to the so-called ‘imposter syndrome’ that talented and high-performing professionals frequently feel.

In this session we’ll

  • examine the ‘Inner Game’ of being a researcher and help you to build some strategies to manage ‘Imposterness’
  • explore techniques and approaches to generate authentic and accurate self-confidence and develop an accurate sense of self and self-confidence.
