Event details
Science and research communication matters, because the work you’re doing matters. Whatever your topic, however niche, people can connect with it.
In this session, we’ll look at different approaches to making those connections when you write or talk about your research.
In particular, we’ll cover how to build the bigger picture of where your research fits within your field and, more broadly, in wider society.
We’ll discuss different approaches to research communication, including storytelling, using data, and visual representations.
Session objectives:
- Develop an awareness of approaches to framing your research in written and verbal communication settings
- Select which of these are the most appropriate for your area of research
- Think critically about the needs of various audiences you might encounter and how to adapt your approach appropriately
