Event details
For researchers, personal and professional reputation is often cited as their number one priority and a key factor in getting promotions, opportunities, and funding.
However, if we’re not careful, the term ‘reputation’ can become a vague concept and can lead to you feeling overwhelmed or chasing impossible metrics.
In this session, we’re going to take a practical approach to what reputation means and introduce some ideas and learnings from the field of reputation management.
We’ll discuss some key concepts, realistic applications and some case studies from the session leader’s experience as a communications and PR professional in UK universities.
Session objectives:
- Understand the areas of your worklife which can impact your reputation
- Develop a broader understanding of reputation management and some concepts which can apply to the research environment
- Identify some microgoals for building on your reputation (either setting a foundation, or taking the next step)
