We’ll cover everything from understanding the differences between academic and non-academic CVs, to effectively marketing your skills, to mastering various types of application forms. We’ll be focusing on key points rather than an in-depth exploration of the topic. There’ll be opportunities to ask questions and contribute, but no breakout rooms.

- Understand the key differences between academic and non-academic CVs and applications, including variations in structure, content and focus
- Know how to present your research, work experience and transferable skills in a way that stands out to employers
- Understand how to interpret job descriptions and selection criteria to make sure that your applications match employer expectations
- Know how to avoid common mistakes that can result in rejection and how to address any gaps or weaknesses in your CV
- Know how to find information and practical support with interview preparation
